Longtime Project Seahorse partner Guylian wins corporate social responsibility award

We're pleased to announce that our longtime partner Guylian Belgian Chocolate has won an award for their contributions to marine conservation.

Over the past 16 years, Guylian has been Project Seahorse's major sponsor, providing over CAD $2.5 million in support for our programs.

The award, handed out by the Royal Belgian Committee for Distribution, recognizes companies who give back to the planet and community with a unique and long-lasting corporate social responsibility engagement.

Guylian shares in many of our biggest conservation successes, from the creation of dozens of marine protected areas in the Philippines to the publication of important biological studies of seahorses, to the establishment of landmark trade protections for seahorses and marine fishes under the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species (CITES).

And, importantly, Guylian helps us spread the word about seahorses and conservation. We're featured on every box of Guylian chocolate, and their Seahorses of the World photo competition has, since 2005, brought together hundreds of wildlife photographers and their beautiful images to help promote seahorse conservation.
